School of Hotel Management, through a philosophy of experiential learning, seeks to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge which enables graduates to be successful in their chosen careers and to contribute significantly to society.
The Bachelors in Hotel Management degree combines hospitality management knowledge with specialized skill-based training in hotel operations. An integral component of the program is a semester long internship experience at a lodging establishment. During these 22 weeks, students receive practical, on-the-job experience in such areas as: Front desk operations, night audit, reservations, Kitchen operations, Accommodation Operations and Food and Beverage operations.
Upon completion of the program, students have the opportunity to enter the hotel industry, or may choose to continue their studies in Master's degree programs in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management or & Tourism Management.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES |
A BHM Graduate is typically considered for Management Training Position in Hotels, Restaurant, Tourism Guest Houses, BPOs and Front Line positions in MNC Banks and Insurance Companies.
Students may sometimes be considered for Supervisory positions in the operational departments of luxury hotels and airlines, cruise lines and Industrial Canteens as also in. |

SCOPE OF DELIVERY |

The normal delivery mode for this program is on a full time basis only. Intensive classroom and lab work ensures students are ready for the internal and semester-end exams. Regular use of audio visual aids reinforces learning and industry internship plays a major role in the overall development of the students' knowledge and skills.

SELECTION PROCEDURES |
|
Selection to the BHM Course is through SAAT conducted by Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University. Information about SAAT-2008 is available at http://www.soauniversity.ac.in. Applications are invited for this entrance through advertisements in the news paper and other media.The content on which the applicants are tested includes:
- Reasoning & Mental Aptitude
- Numerical Aptitude
- General Aptitute
- Test of English Language
- Service Aptitude
Students shortlisted from this written exam are then invited for a personal interview and counseling before admissions.
Apllicants interested to take direct admissions in SHM may do so under seats available under management quota. They have to apply directly to the Institute and reserve a seat.
